Saudi King Gives Award to Muslim Imam Advocating Sex With Muslim Slaves

Does it get any better for a man, than to have his religious leader tell him that his holy book thinks it’s swell for you to have sex with your “slaves?” Newly-crowned King Salman of Saudi Arabia thinks it’s fine, and has awarded Dr. Zakir Naik, an Indian Muslim cleric, for preaching that doctrine, along with other principles that appall the civilized world. Naik received his gold medal from the King, along with close to $200,000 USD, for his “service to Islam.”

Indian cleric Zakir Naik, who has also said 9/11 was an inside job, was handed the King Faisal International Prize for Services to Islam at a glittering ceremony in Riyadh.

A physician by training, the Mumbai-based 49-year-old has carved out a career as a charismatic television preacher, but his controversial views have led to him being banned from entering the UK. More at the Daily Mail.

The award for “service to Islam” highlighted the conflicted position of Saudi Arabia as an American ally that continues to back Islamists who espouse hatred of the West.

Scrutiny of Saudi Arabia’s role in shaping thought in the Muslim world has grown with the rise of the Islamic State extremist group in Iraq and Syria, which shares some aspects of the fundamentalist Islam propagated by the Saudi state.
Saudi officials reject any comparison with the Islamic State, noting that they are on its hit list and that they have joined the American-led coalition that is bombing the group.

King Salman was crowned after the death of his half-brother, King Abdullah. John Kerry eulogized Abdullah as “a man of wisdom and vision,” and a “revered leader.” The female head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) declared Abdullah “a strong advocate for women.”

Abdullah.. He had at least 15 daughters. Four of them, according to news reports, live under house arrest.

Fayez claims her daughters’ supposed incarceration, which has gone on for some 13 years, was both a mark of Abdullah’s vindictive streak and intolerance of his daughters’ modern, independent upbringing.
